Embark on Nathan's Extraordinary Journey
Part I: Draco Antics
Draco Antics introduces us to adolescent Nathan, struggling with his father’s expectations to excel in mathematics, despite his apparent lack of aptitude in the subject. A chance encounter with Danie de Bruin, a mathematics genius, sets a series of unexpected events in motion. Mayzee de Bruin, Danie’s wife, steps in as Nathan’s mathematics tutor, harbouring peculiar motives beneath a seemingly benevolent facade. Nathan’s uniqueness, marked by a ‘glowing’ groin, unwittingly draws women’s attention, leaving him baffled by their actions, and worried by the inexplicable amnesia that follows his unusual escapades.
As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Nathan’s allure is connected to a complex phenomenon known as the Draco Syndrome. Individuals affected by it, including Nathan, possess marvelous powers: the abilities to relocate consciousness, heal the incurable, distort time and reality, and rejuvenate others. This gift, however, regrettably attracts suspicion, jealousy, and deadly consequences from the wrong quarters.
Part II: An Improbable Return
An Improbable Return picks up with Nathan’s death, or at least the death of his physical body. In spirit, he observes the events surrounding his funeral, tapping into the minds of the characters in attendance. Nathan later finds himself inhabiting the body of Wake Jones, a young man from Essex, and is confronted with the challenges of this irksome arrangement. With their separate yet intertwined existences, Nathan and Wake grapple with the ramifications of being two distinct personalities within one body. A truce of sorts between the two eventually evolves. And finally, in an unexpected twist of fate, Nathan’s reconnection, albeit in the physical form of Wake Jones, with Dr. Jeannie Argzand, a long lost friend of his introduced in Part I, offers a heartwarming conclusion to a story that is as mysterious as it is transformative.
